Kanehira : PhotoStory

A monk from Kiso comes across an old man riding a boat carrying brushwood at Yabase Bay in Ōmi Province.

At first, the old man refuses the monk's request to board the boat. He reconsiders the decision, rejoicing in the mercy of Buddha.

After the monk gets on the boat, they head for Awazu. The old man introduces well-known places.

At Awazu, the monk sleeps in the open and encounters Kanehira's ghost in a dream.

Kanehira describes following his lord, Minamoto no Yoshinaka, into battle, and shows how he met a heroic end.
