Seeing an auspicious omen over their house, they realize a noble person is there. 桜間右陣、政木哲司 The old couple meet the emperor. They offer him hospitality and prepare a meal. 津村紀三子 The emperor eats only one side of the sweetfish, giving the rest to the old man. 豊嶋訓三 ほか The old man releases the fish into the river and it swims away. This is an auspicious sign for the future of the emperor. 豊嶋訓三 ほか The emperor's pursuers arrive.
